Artist residency in cove park, Scotland
Collaboration with artist Faye Yan
This work was developed through an experimental collaboration with artist Faye Yan during an artist residency at cove park in Scotland. Sharing the same studio, horizon, weather systems, and daily rhythms, the artists worked together on a large-scale canvas shaped by place, time, and proximity.
The painting evolved through shifting modes of encounter. At times it was passed between them, each responding to what remained; at others, both painted simultaneously, negotiating space and gesture in real time. Moments of overlap were preserved as traces of decision, hesitation, trust, and friction.
Rather than resolving into a unified image, the work embraces instability and plurality, holding fluid authorship, layered emotions, and multiple temporalities.
